Here is a fantasy-oriented poem I wrote a number of years ago, playing on the knight / night homophones.
Sleeping Dragons by joanvinallcox
Here’s why I’m calling myself a geek; this was a learning experience where I took several steps that were new to me.
- I wrote the poem.
- I fought with my Zoom H2 recorder till I could make a recording and listen to it. (Thanks Jim for telling me to READ THE MANUAL. It helped. Totally.)
- I figured out how to make the recording an MP3 file instead of a wav.
- I went searching for the right cord (small USB to large USB) to export my recording to my laptop.
- I figured out which of the collection of random recordings that I’d made while trying to learn how to use the Zoom H2 was the one that I wanted to play with.
- I got the recording but unplugged the recorder incorrectly, and the laptop chided me.
- I edited (a little) the recording in Audacity, and exported it as an MP3.
- I uploaded it to my SoundCloud account, added the text of the poem, tagged it, set up the Creative Commons copyright, added an image, and saved it.
- I got the code for a widget of the recording of “Sleeping Dragons”, opened a new post on my blog, pasted the code in the HTML editing version,
- And voila!!!! A happy (because of challenges overcome) geek!

“Playing With Poetry and SoundCloud | joanvinallcox.

such as this amazing one on the world wide web. Anyway, thank you
for your personal time, Dianna
