Playing With Poetry and SoundCloud

Here is a fantasy-oriented poem I wrote a number of years ago, playing on the knight / night homophones.

Here’s why I’m calling myself a geek; this was a learning experience where I took several steps that were new to me.

1. I wrote the poem.
2. I fought with my Zoom H2 recorder till I could make a recording and listen to it. (Thanks Jim for telling me to READ THE MANUAL. It helped. Totally.)
3. I figured out how to make the recording an MP3 file instead of a wav.
4. I went searching for the right cord (small USB to large USB) to export my recording to my laptop.
5. I figured out which of the collection of random recordings that I’d made while trying to learn how to use the Zoom H2 was the one that I wanted to play with.
6. I got the recording but unplugged the recorder incorrectly, and the laptop chided me.
7. I edited (a little) the recording in Audacity, and exported it as an MP3.
8. I uploaded it to my SoundCloud account, added the text of the poem, tagged it, set up the Creative Commons copyright, added an image, and saved it.
9. I got the code for a widget of the recording of “Sleeping Dragons”, opened a new post on my blog, pasted the code in the HTML editing version,
10. And voila!!!! A happy (because of challenges overcome) geek!
